AUSTRALIAN GUM TREES
White snakes.Lizard tongues
punctuating the sky.
Startled screams
arching high
lacing the dry
red
earth.
Asiatic dancers
crocked and colored
stripped by the sun
exposing appaloosa skin
stretched and tight . . .
You wing my mind
beyond my sight.
